"Why Moimoi? Why?" says Ulysse

Why Moimoi? Why?, originally uploaded by MlleHyena.

So nearby my place there is this big land where there were these awesome trees. They started by cutting down the trees in the front.
And yesterday, they cut down the whole forest that was behind.
My heart bleeds for all these wonderful healthy trees that have been murdered for what? Houses? Parking lot?

I don't know if people realize that less trees equal more global warming, more land slidding, more flooding, more destruction of all kind, more sun on their houses, so more AC in the summer...

For those living in Nashville, I will try and start an association to sensibilize people about all that. There are laws in the making to oblige people to replant a tree when they cut one. I want these laws to be voted!

The 3D poetry of Meredith Dittmar

"Machine Dream"
Polymer Clay, Plexi & Laminate

I said at the beggining of this year I would featured artists whose work really touches me.
The first one will be Meredith Dittmar. You can find all her work on her splendid website which name I adore: CorporatePig

I can do a lot of things with my hands. But weirdly I am unable to work with polymer clay. So at first I was really impressed with the intricate details of her work. The more I was browsing her site, the more I was smiling and getting excited. This is cute. For sure. But there is more than that. This is twisted and the character have a kind of melancholy.

"Sleep through it"
Polymer Clay, Plexi & Laminate
11" x 4"

If I had money, I would buy one of her piece without hesitation. Meanwhile I am just looking at them, and they bring me a lot.
I hope they will too.

They are for me poems in three dimensions.

The story of an outfit: Le Bleu du ciel

I was commitioned by one of my customer on etsy to create a shrug following several requierements. My customer already had bought the fabric and she wanted the shrug made out of it.
After working on the shrug, she wanted me to work on a skirt and provided me several pictures.
I was really happy about the whole thing. It was the first time I was making a whole outfit and the first time working with such specific requierements.
Working with such a thin knit was also a first for me and my serger really helped me there!

All in all, this was a very good experience and I was proud of the result! And apparently seeing the feedback my customer left me, she likes it too.
